Ramadan means fasting, kindness, divine feast, faith and (saying the) prayers; and this is the appreciation. To appreciate His present, we must notice the manners of Ramadan. Self-development and enriching the society are the two most important basis of Ramadan. For self-development, we must practice self-devotion, paying attention to other people, and being kind. We must help others to get close to God:

Here you are - those invited to spend in the cause of Allah.

When you help other people, the most important point is paying attention to God, since He says: “…spend from that which We have provided for you…”. Therefore, praying, fasting, Zakat, and helping other people are the basis of self-development.

Paying attention to society is the second important point. To live as God says requires a holy atmosphere. The holy Quran have always emphasized on establishing the prayers, and not merely saying them; “The ones who establish prayer…”. Prayers and Zakat must be established and promoted in the society. We all must revive the religious rites in the society. Hajj, jihad, doing good, and forbidding evil are some of the major examples of enriching the society.

Paying attention to these bases helps people and society to become more God-like. There is no lie, no duplicity, no slander, no debauchery in such a society, and honesty and good deeds can be observed everywhere. Ramadan is the month of God; it is the month to become more like God, our creator; it is the month of kindness—toward everyone regardless of his/her gender, country, religion. In the special prayer of Ramadan, we have: “O! God! Heal every patient; Make rich those who are in need; Help all those who are alone and homeless; Help all those who are captivated to become free …”. As you can see, we have “all” in almost all of the verses. Praying for all the human beings, and not considering their religion, country, etc. is the main motto of Ramadan.

We must do our best to be His real guest!
